  • Welcome to the 2013-2014 School Year!
    Dr. EW and Knapp students

As I visited many of our buildings on the first day of school this year, it struck me how very proud I am of our students and staff. In just three years, I have seen amazing progress – ISTEP and Algebra scores are rising steadily, our graduation rate is up, our third graders are passing the IREAD test in record numbers, our career and technical offerings are expanding, the number of dual college credits our high schoolers are earning has tripled... I could go on and on. We are making positive progress on so many fronts!

This school year we will continue to focus on the instructional core and a commitment to preparing our students for success in college and careers. We also will continue popular program options for families – including elementary magnet schools in STEM and the Arts, services for gifted and talented students, themes at the middle school level (STEM, Cultural Arts, and Environmental Science), and much more.

I invite you to return to our web site often, and I encourage all parents to use the Parent Access system (click the icon at the top of this page). This is an important tool that will help you track your child’s grades and attendance. I also encourage you to use the Staff Directory function to stay in close communication with your child’s school and teachers. Parents are important partners in the educational success of every child.
