Community Backpack

backpack "Community Backpack" is an online bulletin board where local non-profit organizations may post fliers announcing special events and programs for children and families. Organizations interested in posting a flier should email it to bkohn@mcas.k12.in.us. (Please send information in .pdf format if possible.)
 
The event should be in or very close to MCAS attendance boundaries, and it should pertain to or involve students. Please suggest a length of time for the flier to be posted. Sorry - no campaign events or ads/offers by for-profit businesses.

Note: Inclusion of a flier or announcement does not imply an endorsement of a project or program by the Michigan City Area Schools. Non-profit organizations may also make fliers and announcements available at school buildings for distribution from the office, however information will not be sent home with students. For approval of all fliers, contact Communications Director Betsy Kohn at bkohn@mcas.k12.in.us or call (219) 873-2000, ext. 8365.

  • Free Well Water Testing

    To celebrate National Drinking Water Week (May 6th-12th), the La Porte County Health Department is offering FREE coliform/E.coli tests for residential water well owners.  This service is being offered to La Porte County residents ONLY with residential water supplies (private wells) during May 14 thru May 24th.
